Our Story

Where it started

Suffcon, a subsidiary of the Suffren Group, was founded by directors Bill and Ben Suffren in 2010 to deliver civil construction and maintenance services across southern Queensland.

Based in Roma, the heart of the Surat Basin, the business initially focused on servicing the regional oil and gas industry. In 2019, due to changes in the market, Suffcon broadened its focus to support various local clients across different sectors, including local and state government, agriculture, waste management, and airports.

With origins dating back to 1981, original founders Bill and Rob Suffren started Suffren Contracting & Plant Hire Pty Ltd in Longreach, western Queensland, before expanding into the Northern Territory. The Suffren Family has a long history of supporting a wide variety of clients to deliver civil construction and maintenance projects. Throughout this time, the family has built their business success on maintaining a strong workforce and key working relationships with local contractors, suppliers, and landholders.
